1/29/13

(2nd night back in bedroom...) Yesterday was Mon and I had to get into wk early so that I could leave by 3pm.   I was able to pick the kids up by 3:30 and get to Linda Vista for Alexa's apt w/Linda by 4pm.  Our apt was at 4:30 so I was glad that Linda was able to see her earlier.  A did good and did the entire 20 min. :)  I made BLT's for dinner without the T and with avocado and cream cheese - YUMMY!  :)

Today I didn't have to rush into work so that was nice.  Had a really good day.  Had a 2 hour meeting re: our questionnaire build.  At noon I got a call from the school that A's shoes broke.  I went to Walmart and got her a new pair and took them to her.  I also took a band I got in the mail today to Mrs. Evans.  I made it back to wk in 1 hr.

I had 2 other bands I got in the mail (along with a wooden figit toy) so I put those on the kids chairs.  We had corndogs for dinner.  A had a lot of homework to do so I hope she is able to finish it all tomorrow as it is due on Th.

It has been a long time since I watched anything on the computer but since the kids were in bed at 7:15,  I watched an episode of Once Upon a Time on abc.com.  It took me a while to watch it because the commercials were long and kept having to buffer, then it quit on me and said I needed to download the recent version of Adobe Flash.  Darin helped me a while and decided I needed to restart my computer.  I did and that worked.  I finished watching it but now it is late... :(

I will start a security scan and go to bed. :)

1/27/13 - Anna Pilko

Yesterday am the kids were up at 6:15 (A slept w/me in the pink room).  I had them watch cartoons for 45 min while I wrote up a schedule for the day.  At 7 they got dressed and we ate b-fast then we did homework and took breaks until 10am.  We were ready to go to LEGOLAND but Darin was working with the fish tanks and we were waiting for him.  Finally around 11am we left without Darin as he was still going to be a while.  It had been raining lightly and was still overcast.  We ended up going over to Diana Le to visit her and her new baby (Azaria?).  Cute.  We weren't there long and we went to LEGOLAND from around 12:30 to 5pm.  We stopped at McDonalds for dinner.  When we got home J was sleeping.  A had been waiting all day to see Secret of the Wings (a Tinkerbell movie) so I  put that on.  Darin left right when it was about ready to start and got home from WalMart right after it ended!  A & I slept in the living room.  We didn't fall asleep right away, she was on her laptop and reading from the dictionary!   We finally had lights out and went to sleep...

J woke up around 4:30 asking loudly for Alexa.  I had him come sleep out with us.  He was complaining that his neck was hurting so I gave him some chewable pain reliever medicine for kids.  He woke up early so I had him get in the bath.  After J waking up so early and talking loudly and not letting me sleep very well, he then stated he was tired and laid down again...

I got up at 7am and made scrambled eggs.  I had the kids get up at 7:15 to get dressed and come for b-fast.  I made b-fast burritos just adding cheese and ketchup.  A doesn't care for scrambled eggs so she had cereal.  J loved the burritos and asked for the every morning.  I let him know that I don't have time every morning to make them.  :)  Darin loved them too - he was "mmmmmming" with every bite!

We got to church at 8:15 and we had a nice service.  Before going home we went to the bank and to 99c store.  At home we prepared to go to Nobel Park.  We got there at 11am and met Anna Pilko and her daughter Alexandra (a friend of A's in Ms. Evans class.)  I tried to call Adrian's family but they were in LA.  I tried to call Garrett's family but I was only able to lvm.  Anna was really nice and I enjoyed our time.

We got hm ~2 or so and the kids got on the IPAD.  I set timers for them and went to bed.  I slept till ~4pm when J came in to lay down with me - but he wasn't really sleepy.  A had gone and fallen asleep w/Darin.  I made a pizza for dinner and put on a Netflix movie that came in - Ice Age Continental Shift.  J didn't want to watch it but did.  It was a little scary for them but it was a good movie.  They got ready for bed and D cuddled w/A for a bit.  J fell asleep pretty quickly after yelling a few times how much he loved me. :)

It is 8:30 and I am so tired.  I will get a drink of water and go to bed!

1-25-13 - ionic brush/Big Boss Fryer

Rainy day.   A was put In timeout this am by Darin before they even left for school.  We had a good day though.  A states she got a green and will get a green everyday.  Of course, I found out from Mrs. Evans yesterday that she no longer has been changing  the color of her card as she thought it was too much of a negative for Alexa.  She has just been ignoring her behavior!   Alexa is so excited that she is getting greens - she is ready to try to obtain a star!

I told the girls at work about Live Mocha - Christina wants to learn Italian.  :)  Darin picked up the kids since it was raining.  That gave me time to come home and start dinner - beef, gravy and mashed potatoes.

The kids got in the Jacuzzi for a little bit.  I played Perplexus quite a bit - so fun yet frustrating at the same time.  I had mentioned to Darin this am about getting an ionic toothbrush and he said to go ahead and order from Groupon which I did.  Then I ordered a Emson Big Boss Fryer which I have been looking at for a couple days.  I have been looking at something similar for 2-3 months now though.  This was a really good deal through EBAY.

Alexa was up till about 8:30 on the IPAD before I told her to get off and go brush her teeth.  Silly girl, she was saying to start a movie!  She wanted to lay down with me in the pink room and she fell asleep.  I was even planning on sleeping in my bedroom again as Darin fixed the Jacuzzi to go off around 7:10am but here I am comfy under the covers typing away with A sleeing on my elbow.

Pleasant Dreams!!  :)

1/24/13 - Live Mocha

Busy day at work but it was a good day and I got a lot done.  I picked the kids up at 4pm but we were leaving and J had to go to the restroom so I had him go back inside.  After a while we were leaving again and I remembered that there was a function there that evening.  I asked and was informed it started at 5pm.  I took the kids over to the playground where they played for about 30-40 minutes.  We went back to the school and I was able to listen to the presentation from the SAY Behavioral Specialist.  I love all the information - I need all the good ideas/techniques I can get!  The kids came in with us after about 15 minutes and we all ate pizza together and they gave us poster board to make either house rules or daily schedule on.  Each of the kids got creative with a poster and I brought one home to complete for the kids.

We have a routine when we get home that the kids will hang up their coats and backpacks and put their red folders and lunchboxes on the counter.  I mentioned this to them on the way home and when I parked the car.  A got into the house before I did as I had so much stuff to carry in.  I saw her coat and lunchbox on the floor of the living room!  I gave her a few minutes to come put them away as I was putting away all my things.  When I saw her, she was on the Blackberry Dr. Park had given to me!  I took it away from her, "because you didn't do what I asked the first time."  (She had taken that phone to school without Darin or I knowing about it and she got in trouble a couple times at PrimeTime for having it...

I had J take a bath and wash his hair (he had me help him.)  After he got out A got in.  J was playing and when A got out, in her jammies and teeth brushed, I let her watch about 15min of Matilda on youtube.  J brushed his teeth at the same time I did (while A was on the computer) and when he was done he got into bed.  I covered him up and said a prayer and he followed up with one himself (it didn't make sense to me though so not sure what he said...)   I had A go to bed after the timer went off for the computer and I guess she fell asleep w/Darin.  Pink room again for me tonight.  (I have been sleeping in here for a while because the last couple times I slept in our room the Jacuzzi heater (?) went off at 4:30 am waking me up.  I asked him to change the time on it and tonight when I got home I asked if he had changed it but he said not yet...)

I was checking my email and saw someone from the homeschool group suggested LiveMocha for learning another language.  I thought I had signed up to it a long time ago and got on it again to check it out.  I was doing a beginners lesson when I received a request to chat.  I accepted and found out she is from Santiago, Chile and she is trying to learn English as she wants to be an English teacher.   It felt weird correcting her English when she asked something a little off but that is what she wanted. :)

1/23/13 - start neurofeedback

Darin took the kids in to school and I did about 5 loads of laundry and got groceries before heading over to Doyle to meet up with Darin and have our 11:15 meeting with Jennifer (school counselor), Kim (principal) and the educational specialist (not sure of her name).  The meeting went really well and they have a lot of ideas they want to start enforcing like a higher table so she can stand, turning the chair around so she can lean on the back of the chair, lap desk so she can sit on the floor and eventually get her in a 504(?).

Darin and I went to UTC for lunch then I went to University City library and picked up some books.  I went back to Doyle and helped Mrs. Traganza by covering a couple boards with contact paper.  I picked the kids up early from Primetime and let J play about 10 min at the playground.  A didn't want to play so I had her read the 2 books I got from the library on Molly Pitcher for the biography she needs to turn in by 2/7.  At home I drew a flower on a paper and had her put the name in the stem and asked her to write some details/facts in the petals.   She wrote "born 1950's".   J wrote a little bit for his homework but not much.

Darin picked us up ~3:20 and we drove to La Mesa for a 4pm apt w/Linda N (Behavioral Specialist) for consult and neurofeedback.  We were there until 5pm.  I think this will be very helpful to Alexa but it is expensive!  $100 per session and she needs to go 2/wk for a while.

Both kids fell asleep on the way home but woke up when we got home.  Darin dropped us off as he had a happy hour to go to with some people from work.  I had the kids take a bath.  They got ready for bed and I read a book to Jake and A laid in her bed and watched ~20 min of Matilda on my IPAD.

J fell asleep before A was done but she was ready for lights out at 6:30pm.  I was ready too but thought that I would try Perplexus again - no luck getting to 100 today - YET!

1/21/13 - A saves J

I haven't written the past couple of days so I will try to remember what I can.

Sat 1/19 A had a birthday party to go to for Aqua who turned 8.  She dressed up as Princess Tianna and since Jake got to go to, he dressed up as a crusader (knight, dragon slayer, etc...)  There were quite a few kids there and most of them were dressed up - so cute!  Carmi (mom) was dressed up like snow white and Peter (dad) was dressed up like a knight (or king).   They had a trampoline and the kids were having a blast.  Darin and I left to go on a hike and we went longer than I would have gone but we had a good time and also walked to a Vons to pick up some healthy things to eat/drink before we headed back to their house.  They had really yummy carmel apples in the shape of Mickey Mouse that were really colorfully coated with colored sugar.  Darin and I shared 1/2 an apple.  We helped clean up the back yard and then took off for home at 4pm.

Sun 1/20.  We went to church and at noon I took A over to Seleste's home to celebrate her 12th b-day.  I came home and played with J and he also played by himself while I read.   When it was time to pick A up J rode his bike and I walked A's scooter over so she could ride it back.  It seems they had a very good time at the party.  We made it home around 4:20 so they live really close. :)

Mon 1/21 - Holiday - Martin Luther King Jr. day.  Darin left around 5:30 to go pick up donuts.  I started reading my book and he came home and started reading his emails on the computer.  By 6:30 ish Tracy had come to carpool with him to go plant trees.  A bunch of them went out to lunch and then they got home around 2ish??  I had been out front with the kids.  J was on his bike and A had her scooter out but she was sitting next to me (she constantly hurts herself).  Anyway, when Darin pulled into the back to park, Jake followed not realizing Darin was backing up to park.  Alexa was running back there for J to stop.  Darin heard her and stopped backing up or he would have hit J who had zoomed behind him on his bike.  I didn't see any of this as I was in the front of the house still.  I did hear A crying (scared out of her mind for Jake).  Later A said that J was under Darin's car and that his bike almost got ran over and that she had pulled on his shirt to get him out.  A cried for quite a while about this whole thing.  Darin and I were both very proud of her and told her that J couldn't ask for a better sister than her.

Darin took J on a hike.  I watched Matilda with A until the last 15 min when we had to go to Shalini's home as Jane told me she would do a pedicure on A.  It was such a nice visit with Jane and she did do a great job on A's toes - she also gave a mini manicure.  The girls played and watched some tv while Jane and I talked.  :)

We made it home in time for A to brush her teeth, pick out her clothes for tomorrow and watch the last 15 min of Matilda - cute show!

Darin and I watched "Ugly Truth", not one I would recommend to anyone - crass.

I did play Perplexus and got from 1-100 but it did fall just before resting at the end...  I will try again!!!  :)

I'm not sure how long I tried for - maybe 15 min or so but I made it from 1-100 without it falling!!!  :)

1/17/13

It has been so cold out lately but today was a really nice day out. :)   I made the green smoothie and Darin made hard egg sandwich.  The kids tried the but didn't want to eat them.  Alexa had a piece of cheese and then she got a buttered bagel.  Darin thinks she should only be getting 1/2 bagel.  We had a good morning and Darin was able to leave earlier as he needed to get gas.  I, on the other hand, got into work about 5 min late which isn't bad except I had to reboot the computer and didn't clock in until 7:11.

The carpets at work had been shampooed yesterday and more GI moves were taking place.  The big conf table was finally moved downstairs!!!  Busy day with setting up fellow interviews and other stuff.  During lunch I typed up some house rules and consequences.

I picked up the kids a little late and checked them out around 4:20.  We got home around 4:30 - not bad!  The kids at PB & Nutella sandwiches (2 each) when Darin realized the Nutella has so much sugar in it...  We had already told them that they could have an ice cream sandwich afterwards so they were full of sugar!

I got upset with Alexa for whining/complaining about something and I squeezed her face while telling her to stop it.  I didn't realize I had squeezed some of her neck skin and she was crying because it hurt.  I think I need a behavioral specialist too.  I don't want to hurt my kids!   Earlier in the day Jake had made a face after I asked him to do something he didn't want to do so I had him hold his tongue for 1 minute (read that online as a consequence today).  I probably should have just had Alexa hold her tongue...  I have to remember to keep a cool head - it is so hard in the moment though.   LORD - HELP ME!!!

I had washed the kids bedding so after the kids bath and Raz Kids, Darin helped me make their beds.  Jake fell asleep really quickly.  I read the rules and consequences to A and laid down with her a little bit.  I was then able to read a couple chapters in ECLIPSE.   It is 9:36 now and I will probably still look through some emails/facebood/news...  I hope I get to bed by 10:30!

Night! :)

1/16/13

Had a good morning. Darin took the kids into school and I got some laundry done.  I left here at 9:10 a to go pick up Darin and we went to Dr. Margo P. (Behavioral Specialist) to discuss Alexa.  We were there until 11:15.  We had good discussions and Alexa will go next week for special testing on a computer.

Darin and I went out for Mexican lunch before I took him back to work.  I had 3 mini carne asada tacos (YUM) and he had a carne asada burrito.  After I dropped him off I went to the school.  I spoke w/the vice principal who sat w/A some today and said she seemed focused.  The nutritionist (??) set up a mtg for next Wed w/Vice Principal, Principal, Behavioral Specialist, etc...  I'm not really sure who all will be there.   I went to see Mrs. Evans who states she hasn't noticed any change with Alexa yet.  :(  We will give that some more time as A just recently started taking "Lemon" oil.   I then went to Mrs. Traganza's class and did some work there but she must have already been gone for the day because I didn't see her (but she might have been in a meeting.)

I brought the kids home early (1:45) but let them play for a little bit on the playground.  We ended up leaving there soon afterwards because they weren't getting along.  We were home by 2:30.  I made PB banana smoothie and A must have had 3 juice glasses full (normally she has 1!!!!!)  It took A a long time to write out the title of her book on a piece of paper - about 1/2 hr!!  She was doing some more of her homework when the doorbell rang.  I had just had a discussion with A to lock the screen door so strangers couldn't just walk in.  She had locked it but yelled at us (she was "belted" to her chair at the time) to look out the window to see who it was.  Jake looked out and yelled, "They're here, they're here!!!"  That didn't help me any, I opened the door and it was Dee and Gianna!  Gianna had driven!!! :)  What a nice surprise and another break for the kids!!  I talked with Dee about the boys being Gate Seminar (Giana is Gate) I offered for them to stay as I was making lasagna but they had to get going home.  I told them to stop by more often.  :)

I don't know what did it, but A finished her book report, spelling and math!  :)  :)   Daddy came home during dinnertime and A was so excited to show him that they were belted to the seats!  They both finished their lasagna and were able to have an ice cream sandwich.  J got in the bath and then A.  Darin read J a story and then sat in the bathroom w/A while she went on and on about the cell phone she is going to get when she is 14!!  I was working on writing up a rough draft for house rules - a lot of ideas on the internet!!  When I tucked her in and, at her request, laid down with her, she again talked about the cell phone she would be getting.  :)

This always happens... I want to be in bed around 8pm and I don't get to go until around 10:30 or 11pm!!

Night!

1/15/13

It is 8:08 pm and I am so tired right now!  We had a good morning and everyone made it out on time. :)  It has been busy at work with the Fellowship program and other daily duties.  Christina and Talitha were telling me murders that have taken place and were recently in the news or on a tv program.  Christina told me about a MD who was murdered by a pt of his because of a med prescribed by him ~ 5 yrs prior.  He ended up stabbing him ~21 times.  Even though he plead guilty (in another country) he said he never intended to kill him.  If he would have stayed still he only meant to cut off his hands and feet, sauter them so they wouldn't bleed and pluck his eyes out. (SICK!)   Talitha told me of a young girl from here in SD whose family had just moved into the country and her mother passed away.  She was taking really good care of her younger brother but went to SF for college.  Her best friend there who was ~3 mos pregnant thought her boyfriend was cheating with her and so she posed as a teacher, stole a badge, murdered the innocent girl and dumped her body in the woods.  The body was found by Amber's mom (of Amber and Chelsea...) and her newly trained tracking dog.  The "best friend" would have been ~ 6 mos pregnant by this time - jail baby...  What kind of world do we live in?

I read some of my book at lunch time.

Darin picked the kids up from school so I went to Smart & Final and picked up some dinner items.  I made a chicken spinach pasta dish for Darin and I and Mac-n-Cheese for the kids along with garlic toast for all of us (J didn't want any.)  Darin did some homework with J and I helped A finish her project on Bottlenose Dolphins.

The kids had to brush their teeth and go to bed early for their behavior - A for being disrespectful and J whining/crying (acting tired.)  They started sleeping in the LR on the floor but after I read them A's book (for her book report this week) they went to their room to sleep.

It is 8:22 and I have a little more energy than I had when I started this so I will check out some news articles.  I still think of those 20 angels every day and wish they were still alive.  I get so sad when I think about what those last moments of their lives were like - the terror and pain... poor babies.  THANK YOU JESUS for holding them in your arms now!!!

1/14/13

It is sad... 1 month that those precious 20 kids and wonderful 6 adults are no longer with us.  I signed the Sandy Hook Promise.

The morning went by pretty well so I was surprised when I got a call from Darin at work surprised that I was still alive!  Obviously A told Alexandra (who told her mom - who told Darin) that Darin killed me, that the step-mom was trying to kill her and that her dad hates her.   Waiting for CPS to come a knockin'!!!

Another surprise, JH left his heater on all night Fri because he was going to wk on Sat am and didn't want it to be cold.   The whole building could have burned down.  His room smelled like a fire had taken place.  Good thing he went in as early as he did.  He wants his walls washed, carpets cleaned and a new wall heater.

I went with Christina to Beverly's Fabric store during lunch.  We got K sandwiches on the way back. It was a good, busy day.

When I picked up the kids and we were in the car A asked if Darin was in jail.  She then proceeded to tell me the "nightmare" she told Alexandra.  Alexa said she was a mermaid and Darin and I killed her mermaid mom and we were trying to kill her next.  Where do kids come up with this?  I'm so glad we have an appt with a Behavioral Specialist on Wed.  Not only that but J said that he could beat me down to the ground but he didn't want to.  I would go to heaven and he would go to jail.  Did I say already that I am glad we have an appt with a Behavioral Specialist soon?!?!

We had a good evening.  The kids played outside quite a bit while I got leftovers ready.  I worked a lot on A's school project and she cut out pictures.   I had been asking the kids to go brush their teeth and go to bed but at 7:50 they were still up!  Jake was saying something smart aleky to me and I got upset and squeezed his face and said REALLY!?!  I proceeded to give him a light smack on his cheek.  I had never treated him like that before. :(

I had to leave the room (feeling major guilt) and heard him talking with Daddy.  He was telling Daddy that he didn't want to kill me but now he does want to.  That got Darin MAD!!!!   Jake got a spanking.  I came when Darin was coming out and I whispered to him that J probably doesn't even know what he is talking about.   He was crying so hard I picked him up and held him tight.  Jake then was telling me again what he said to his dad and that I would be in heaven and he would be in jail.   I let him know that we don't say things like that about anybody.  God calls us to love one another and we are to treat others the way we want to be treated.  I laid him in bed and he said he doesn't like earth and pointing up said he wished he was there now.

Lord, help Darin and I know how to teach our kids love, kindness, forgiveness, patience, humbleness, grace, sincerity, gentleness, goodness, faith, temperance, etc...  PLEASE~ SOONER THAN LATER!

1/13/13

Jake woke up on the floor and got made at me for pushing him off the bed!  I told him that the computesomer had fallen and I woke up and he had his legs over the bed and slowly got down to the floor kneeling.  I got down next to him asking if he wanted to get back up into bed or lay on the floor.  He laid down where he was.  I got his blankets and laid them down for him and he fell asleep...  (Mommy is evil!)

Jake did some Raz Kids and A was on the IPAD some.  We had some cereal and I made a green smoothie before we went to church at 8:30.  We had J stay in his class today and he didn't give us a problem.  (I had told him while we were getting ready that he would be staying there today.)  Ping got up and gave her testimony about the fire at her home on Tues.  So glad they are ok but they lost all their possessions.

I spent a lot of time trying to fix the computer so that the trial Outlook would work - no luck so far.  Darin has been having me help him move the huge fish tank he got last weekend so he can clean it out.  I made hash browns (w/Jake helping cut up the potatoes) and French toast with OJ and cantaloupe.  :)

We all walked over to the 99c store and Darin got quite a bit of stuff (of course 2 items were for Christmas, from A, slim no-slide hangers!)  Both kids wore their roller shoes and had me pull them quite a bit - what a work out!!

At home, I read out front while the kids rode their bikes/scooter.  I printed out info on bottle nose dolphins.  We weren't really hungry for dinner so I made PB banana smoothie and popcorn while we watched Miracle Dogs.  It was a cute movie.  Time for kids to go to bed as soon as it was over though (7:30) and they went to bed no problem.  Darin laid down with A till both kids were asleep.

It is 8:40 and I am ready for LIGHTS OUT!!!  :)

Fountain of youth?...

1/12/13

The kids and I had a sleepover last night so we fell asleep watching movies (from my computer hooked up to the tv.)  I wasn't able to get on my computer last night to do a post from yesterday.  Below is a picture soon after waking up.

Yesterday was a pretty good day though.  At work the girls and I had a meeting with Isabel Garcia, Deb Jennings, Rachel Christensen and Vicki Curry to go over a lot of information on scheduling.  The meeting lasted over an hour and we didn't even discuss the distribution of our duties, which is why we were meeting.

For dinner I made easy chicken cacciatore from a recipe I got from allrecipes.com.  It was so yummy!  The directions said to put it in the oven for 35 min to 1 hr so I had it in for 55 min and the thick pieces still weren't cooked all the way through.  Next time I will plan for 1hr and 15 min.

I took the kids to WalMart and then to M&R's (Kim still there after her back surgery).  The kids have been fighting all day.  We had lunch there and with them not minding we came home  I started looking up info for A bottle nose dolphins and found some images but I wasn't able to email the pics as I didn't have Microsoft Outlook.  I tried to download it but it is now 9:30 pm and still no luck...

After being up til about 9pm, the kids are both sleeping with me in the pink room - not as much room as on the living room floor!!!  No room for my arms!

Drive Thru Employees Stumped by Hilarious Invisible Driver Prank [VIDEO]

Drive Thru Employees Stumped by Hilarious Invisible Driver Prank [VIDEO]

Good one!  Too funny :)

1/10/13

Darin and I woke up around 5:15 and had time to get ready without rushing this am.  The kids had picked out their clothes last night so that made it easy.   J is 10 days dry (maybe 11-13).  The kids have been taking their gummy multivitamins, Omega3 and tsp of fish oil (Jake) or "lemon" oil (Alexa).  The kids did fight over "Jake's" new V-tech camera so I took the batteries out and put it away.  You know what, I can't even remember if that was today or yesterday!  I am so tired I can hardly think.

Good day at work - it was Talitha's first day back - still sick but better.

Picked kids up at 4pm and they were behaving pretty good. :)  At home they did some homework.  A was using my IPAD to look up some clips/info on Bottlenose Dolphins for her upcoming report.  Jake had some fishsticks and chicken for dinner.  A took a bath while I was making her more fishsticks.  Darin and I finished off the rest of the yummy ckn enchiladas.  Darin did RAZ kids with Jake and ate her fishsticks while we watched the 1st episode of the 2nd season of Elephant Princess at the table (on my laptop.)

A picked out her clothes for tomorrow.  J, A & I brushed our teeth then A did RAZ kids.   I showed J how I was able to hang their coats up with the 3M hooks I had installed when we first got home.   I tucked him in, prayed with him, told him how much God loves him and that He created him.  Jake told me, "Mommy, I love God more than I love you."  I told him that is the way it should be.  :)

He was asleep when A came to bed.  I told her the same thing as I told J and she said the exact same thing!!  :)  She had me lay down with her a while - until she fell asleep.  :)

1/9/12 - Crisis Cleaning

Darin and I woke up at 6:20 - the time they are usually out the door!  We are usually supposed to check in at 6:40 but he said he had changed it to be 6:50 check in time and they actually made it in time!

Crisis Cleaning 04/04 by FlyLady Tools | Blog Talk Radio

Around 7 this am I tried to get this downloaded onto my new phone and couldn't get it!  I think I finally got it downloaded around 1pm.  I didn't end up listening to it today. Thankfully I got a LOT done today though.  The kitchen (table, counter, sink area, floor) look so much better.  I was able to vacuum the LR and sweep the hallway and front entrance room.

I picked the kids up at school at 3pm and Alexa said she did really good on the GATE test and that she was the first one done.  We did homework when we got home.  I made hotdogs in bread (with Panini grill) and also had a side of sauted onions - YUM.   Alexa didn't get to watch any tv (asking for a family movie) because she kept arguing with Jake.  I told her I would extend GRACE to her and let her watch something if she stopped arguing - she argued.  I did RAZ kids with both kids.

I feel really tired tonight so instead of going to bed around 1am again - I hope to fall asleep very soon!  Shouldn't be a problem, I have been on the "nods" for an hour now.

1/8/13

Up at 5am and took a nice undisturbed bath - ahhhhh...!!!  The kids were up and ready to go by 6:15 so that was nice. Not sure why I didn't leave until about 6:40...

The 8:30 mtg was cancelled. Talitha was sick - thinks she might have pna even.  Had a sonogram at 12:30 but was able to move it up to 10am.  She was going to go right after to try to see her PMD at 11am - then home and to bed.  Christina and I kept very busy.  I was really busy with Fellowship things - GI & Emerg ED both had downloaded a lot of items into my file so I had to clean that out, had another updated application and a new one, started working on 2 itineraries, etc...

Darin called me at work when I was about to walk out the door at 3:30 (took a few calls from me to him as I couldn't hear him and he thought I was joking) to let me know he could pick up the kids.  :)  I stopped by Food 4 Less on the way home and got some groceries.  They were home when I got here and Darin was working on emptying the fish tank (no leaks!)  :)  He helped me tear up cooked chicken while I got the easy chicken enchiladas ready to go into the oven.  Jake helped empty pinto beans into the saucepan with the melting cream cheese and rotel tomatoes (good substitute for salsa!).   DELISH!!  Mmmmmm Good! :)

Darin went straight to bed after dinner and was on the computer - he has been doing that a lot lately again.  Leaving it up to me to clean up and take care of the kids...  Alexa has a GATE test tomorrow am so I showed her some sample questions.  She read some Diary of a Wimpy Kid to Darin.  She loves that book and reads many pages at a time!  :)  Darin did do RAZ kids with Jake. :)

After cleaning up some I brushed my teeth with Alexa then got under the covers in the pink room and started reading more of New Moon.  She was using her new video camera to get some video of me reading.  Jake came in and hadn't brushed his teeth yet and I told him to go have his Dad brush his teeth with him, go to the bathroom and then Daddy could tuck him in tonight.    That was around 7pm as they are to go to bed early tonight so A can rest up for her test tomorrow!

I read my book until 9pm - not done yet but it is very good.  I had looked up some Sally Clarkson youtube videos last night and watched some.  Today I had brought home a Parents magazine and read a good article My Kids Won't Listen.   Very good - some good reminders that I need to start doing again.  1) Say it with a single word  2) Provide Information (Milk spoils when it's left out.)  3) Give choices (You can put on your hat now or put it on after you miss the next ride.)  4) State your expectations (After you've brushed your teeth and are totally dressed and ready to go, you can watch a little TV.)  5) Name their feelings (You seem really frustrated.  - then just listen.)

Well, it is 9:30 now and I might just do some checking on my emails, facebook, etc...  Night!  :)

1/7/13

Oh... back to school and work for all of us.  Darin said he wasn't able to sleep last night and was already up, had a bath and dressed at 5:30.  He got the kids lunches together.  Good thing we had the kids go to bed early last night.  They woke up pretty good.  I made a smoothie for b-fast and the kids were ready to go by 6:10.  I didn't like watching them leave (as I am still thinking of the kids from Newtown, CT.)

I left for work around 6:30 and got there a little early.  It was good to see Talitha again but she is a tad sick.  We had a pretty good day today.  I did get a msg back from Deb & later from Isabel re: msg I sent on Fri (per JR's rqst).  The 4 of us will be meeting at 8:30 tomorrow am.  I hope Christina is able to attend as well.  I am reading New Moon so I read that during lunch.

I picked the kids up at Primetime at 4pm.  Jake left his lunchbox & coat at school and was throwing a fit about it so we went and all the doors were locked like I thought they would be and he continued throwing fits!  I asked him, "Jake, what good is it to be angry about something that you can't change?  It will be there tomorrow."  He did calm down after that.

On the way home Darin called telling me about how Joe wants to be invited to the next lunch - not going to happen...  Alexa reminded him to get apples and bananas (tortillas too!)

At home I made fish sticks for fish tacos.  I had A do most of her book report on a book she was finishing reading at Primetime when I got there.  J had a LOT of items to complete for Dec.  I didn't have him return it this am as there was so much he had to do.  Now there are only a couple things he didn't do so I am ok with returning it like that.

The kids use really bad tones with each other.  I kept having them repeat what they said in nice tones.  However, A has a smart mouth and got some mean looks and spankings from me.  J was there (we were brushing our teeth) and said that he thought I was going to spank him too...   I had a talk with both of them after A had a real cry and apologized.  I let them know that when they use bad tones I will be having them repeat what they say in nice tones as we shouldn't be talking to one another that way - it isn't acceptable.  I also let them know that they will get spankings when they are disrespectful to Darin or myself.

They at least went to bed in good moods.   I need to get on the internet and read up more on the Ministry of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson and some of her other books too!

Lord, help me!!!

1/6/13

I can't believe that J slept in until 7 and Alexa till 7:30!  Made smoothies for b-fast.  Alexa and I went to church.  We got home and D took J to look for shoes.  A stayed home because she wanted to make a video showing her mermaid powers!  We were still doing that when D & J got home.  He wanted to take them to the aquarium but A didn't want to go so he said, "OK J, let's go!"  Then J didn't want to go either.  Darin parked his car and started cleaning out the big tank he got yesterday morning.  I helped him move it a couple times.  He did a good job cleaning it.

I returned a duplicate cookbook that Debbie got me and bought Play and Learn Spanish as well as a cursive dry erase pad for Alexa (and J when he is older).  A had gone with me and we must have been there about 2 hours.  While I was sitting looking at cookbooks she ventured to the row behind me where on the bottom shelf they had sex books...  She brought it to me.  I calmly explained to her that that is something that we don't look at - it is a sad shame that books like that are even made and that the book store even carried something like that.  Once I realized it was on the bottom shelf, I should have mentioned something to the establishment.

When we got home I changed the batteries in the Vtech camera and it works great.  (Amazon is selling the same camera and case for $150!!!)  I made some frozen Chinese chicken for dinner.  After we ate I made 2 bags of popcorn and we watched ?New Mommy?  It was cute and the kids had to brush their teeth and go straight to bed (7pm) as they have to be up early for school tomorrow.

Darin still didn't change the time the Jacuzzi goes off (4:30am) so I am sleeping in the pink room again tonight.

Back to work tomorrow for me too so I better get to bed soon...  :)

1/5/13

The kids were awake by 6:15 and I was relaxing in bed reading New Moon (2nd book in the Twilight series).  I was so busy taking it easy that before I realized it, Laurie was going to be over in 45 minutes!  I hurried and got dressed and made us all smoothies with bananas, orange, apple, greek strawberry yogurt and spinach - YUM!

Laurie and Peanut made it over early (MIRACLE for Laurie!!) at 8:15 instead of 8:30 and then ended up having to wait for us until 8:40.  We were at Amvets when they opened at 9am and we spent more time there than expected!  We got back to my place at noon and she was supposed to be at Christina's (& Jayden's) at noon.  Laurie spent about $70 and me about $35.  She got a lot of clothes for Peanut, some toys for Peanut and Jayden, and a new car seat.   I got some clothes for Alexa and some toys for Jake including a Bop It, V-tech camera, semi truck that carries about 48 hot wheel cars, a "CARS" hotwheel racer that races 10 cars at a time and a long nerf sword.  Oh yeah, I got myself a pair of rollerblades too.  I don't remember if I have a pair from a long time ago or not but I have been wanting to go and they are a nice pair that fit for only $8.  :)

Like I said, we got home around noon and Laurie and Peanut took their treasures and headed out.  Darin was gone - meeting up with his brother David to go to Costco.  I took the kids to UTC for lunch at Rubios.  I had some old tickets for ice skating.  I went to the window and they wouldn't honor them so we left.  Of course, the kids weren't too happy but I had forewarned them that it might be too expensive and if it was, I would take them to another place sometime soon.  (I have good tickets for 4 to go to the ice skating rink in Mira Mesa. These only cost $20 and ice skating at UTC for the 3 of us would have been $40.)

We came home and played whatever Jake wanted to play for 1 hour.  We played with his hotwheels and new semi and racer then for about 40 minutes then rode our bikes outside until he threw a fit with 5 min left to spare.  We came inside and Alexa wanted to watch the show from yesterday again (Something about Cupid...)  I had cut up oranges and apples to munch on during the movie.  When using the peeler on the orange I cut my left had about 1/2"!  It is kinda deep too.

Darin got home around the later part of the movie.  He went to his room and got on the computer (I think to look for the supplements for Alexa as Costco didn't have them.)  I made Jake a PB sandwich - he never tires of them.  Darin had eaten late with David and wasn't hungry.  I made Alexa, Jake and I a PB banana nutella smoothie (YUM!) and Alexa and I had buttered blueberry bagels.

I went jacuzzin with the kids but J wasn't minding so I asked Darin to take him in the house.  A&I must have been in for about 35 min or so when she decided to get out and get her mermaid outfit.  We stayed in another 20-25 min or so.

A wanted me to research how to make a video look like she has powers.  I figured out on YouTube how to cut out some of the middle of the video so I think we are good to go on that!  :)  However, it took me a long time to figure it out so she was asleep before I was done at around 8:30pm.  Good thing we had already brushed our teeth.  I carried her to bed and she woke enough to ask for her Dora comforter along with the Diego one that was on her bed.  Jake hadn't brushed his teeth but he was still awake - tired, but awake.  He had me brush his teeth.  He is very particular on his blankets too.   He sleeps on top of his bedding and likes to only sleep in his underwear, covered by his blue blankie.  He has a CAR blanket which he likes me to put on top of the blue blanket and make sure none of the blue blanket is showing.  I did this then went into the bathroom when I heard him change position and call me to cover some of the blue blanket that was showing!  SERIOUSLY!!!   I let him know that I had covered it and he needs to be able to take care of that himself, especially if he is going to be moving and uncovering parts of the blue blanket himself.

I let Darin know that the past couple nights the jacuzzi has woken me up around 4:30 am (a new time since he and the kids cleaned it.)  He said he will fix that tomorrow.  Tonight I am sleeping in the pink room.

I plan to read some more of "New Moon" so goodnight!!  :)  (Had to try inserting a pic from the web cam!!!  This is easy and I will try to do it with the kids soon.)  :)

1/4/13

The kids were at least awake in their bed before I left for work and I was able to tell them goodbye and that I love them.  2nd day back to work and it is Friday - thankfully I will have another 2 days off!  Talitha has been off since Wed and we miss her - we are behind on our work - no confirmation calls made or mail retrieved.

Darin called me to say that he took the kids to Mission Bay for Jake to ride his bike and Alexa her scooter.  She made a friend who had an electric scooter and she got to try that out.  Darin said that Jake was like Forrest Gump when he just kept running and running - Jake kept riding and riding!

JH was out on vac still today but we had the pulm div mtg still and Christina went with me.  There was a lot of discussions about scheduling...  We get so many calls and staff msgs from CS because they have never been properly trained.  JR said to cc Deb Jennings and Isabel Garcia on all emails/staff msgs as documentation of the problems we are having.

There were a lot of lunches left from yesterday's PPCC and pizza from today so Christina and I split it.  I got home and the kids were in the jacuzzi. :)  We had sandwiches/pizza and Jake had 3rd PB sandwich of the day.  For about a month he has been asking for only PB sandwiches in his lunch!  I had made a sandwich on the griddle for Darin and let him know.  He had been walking around and a little later asked me whose sandwich was on the counter.  It was almost 1/2 eaten and he didn't even remember eating it!  Early onset of Alzheimer's or senility??  I told Darin I was going to document this so when the doctors as me when the onset of it was I can let them know as early as 1/4/13!

We watched a HULU movie about 2 fraternal twins whose father used to be cupid!  Cute. :)

Darin had kept the kids so busy today that there was no problem with them going to bed.  They usually go to bed pretty easily but will ask for a story or for me to lay down (usually Alexa.)

Time to play on the computer for a while.  Last night I went to bed around 12:30 and didn't sleep well but still woke up early and have plenty of energy.

I forgot when I started trying to eat better to loose some weight - maybe right after Thanksgiving,  I was at 154 and today weighed in at 148.8.   I didn't eat the best today so I am afraid to weigh myself again.  Smoothie for b-fast tomorrow am!!  :)

1/3/13

My first day back to work after a wonderful 1 1/2 wks off!  I left while it was still dark out and Jake and Alexa were still sleeping.  They normally wake up so early!  I left around 6:40 am.

Work was very busy - I had around 265 emails or more to go through.  Talitha is on vacation but it was GREAT seeing Christina.  She told me of her after Christmas trip to Mexico (from Phoenix) and how nightmarish it was!

I talked with Darin around 11am and he was ready to beat the kids silly for not minding at WalMart and Smart & Final.  He did good though, letting the kids cry (in terror) in their room while he talked with me.  Later he told me that they spent most of the day in their room and he never did give them a spanking.

I met Dee at Costco and picked up multivitamins and Omega3 chewables for the kids.  (Later Darin told me that isn't what he wants for them and he will try to go with his brother to Costco to find what he is looking for.)  I also picked up 2 LARGE containers of sourdough pretzels and some dried fruit/nut trail mix.

I had a call from Darin at 3:20 and heard Alexa crying her eyes out in the background.  I guess she had just hurt her knee.  She got on the phone asking when I would be home and if I could come home now.  I got off at 3:40 and was home by 4pm.

Both kids were naked.  Jake was in the jacuzzi helping Darin empty and clean it.  Alexa was inside in the tub.   It was a really nice day out but it was starting to get a little chill in the air and Alexa's lips were blue and Jake's were getting there.  The kids took their new vitamins.

We had Darin's leftover adobe chicken in hot dog buns with cheese (and Spinach for Darin and I).  YUMMY!!   At the dinner table Alexa was having so much fun hearing stories about things she did when she was younger, like putting diaper cream all over herself until she looked like an albino...  she and Jake taking all my spices and sitting on the kitchen floor having a spice shower and other such stories.

Finally, Darin went to bed.  He is so annoying looking over my shoulder to see what I have written.  Now I can write what I really want.  (Those are all his words - but I do agree!)  :)

Darin did RAZ Kidz with Jake and Alexa.  They are really good readers.   I took videos of them each individually reading a Dr. Seuss book - tongue twister!!!

I don't think much else happened today - oh yeah... it was the first day back to school for the survivors of the Newtown shooting from 12/14/12.  I have cried pretty much every single day for those kids/families...

1/2/13

I have been waking up pretty early and woke up around 5:30 this morning.  The kids didn't wake up til 7am though!!  Nice, but very unusual.  Darin and I took down the Christmas tree.  He dug up the grass and dirt in the tiny section by the street.

Laurie and Peanut came over around 10:30 but Laurie wasn't feeling the best.  Jake and Alexa had been riding their bikes out front when they arrived.  Laurie brought presents for the kids and they opened them.  Alexa got a Barbie that you can change her hair color with sprays and designs.  They played with that a while.  We ate lunch then walked down to Gershwin.  Jake and Alexa rode their bikes and Peanut rode a scooter.

Alexa was really sweet and nice for about 3 days around Christmas time but hasn't been very nice lately.  She gets really upset easily with Jake for no reason - sometimes there is a reason.  He used to be my sweet loving boy but since he started Kindergarten he has gotten angry easily and mad with bad tones - so he isn't innocent here either.

I don't know if I had mentioned it already or not, but I think of the kids (& teachers) who were killed 19 days ago.  I think of them every day.  They were the first thought on my mind at 5:30 when I woke up.  I can't imagine what the families are going through.

Laurie and Peanut left around 2:45 and I tried to get Alexa to lay down with me as she was having a really tough day.  We were having a good time relaxing until Jake came in and laid down on the floor beside my bed.  Alexa was so upset he was in there that she left in a huff.   I asked Jake to go and let Alexa have some "mommy" time and that I could spend time alone with him later.  He went out to let Alexa know and she yelled at him before he could even tell her!

At 3:30 we took Jake over to Bonnie's where Laurie and Peanut are staying.  Darin and I took A to see Dr  Hitchcock for ADD assessment.  We didn't really learn anything new but he suggested we put her on multivitamins and Omega 3.   I plan to meet Dee tomorrow at Costco at noon to get some.

We picked Jake up on the way home at 5pm.  We came home and had leftover Panda Express.  Darin helped A with homework.  I cleaned up the kitchen and then got out a agic eraser and a water bottle.  I started cleaning the floor and Jake wanted to help.  When A was done, she helped Jake - they were having fun cleaning the kitchen floor!!  :)

Jake wanted to read a book so he picked out a Dr. Seuss book that I read.  Jake fell asleep and Darin carried him to the bathroom and then onto bed.   Alexa, Darin and I watched Elephant Princess in bed.   We watched the final 2 episodes of season 1.  :)

Jake has been having a hard time staying dry at night but he has been doing great.  I was a tad shocked when he had an accident around 12/30.  So far he has had a great start to 2013!

It is 9:45 and I have to go back to work tomorrow...  :(

Happy New Year!!

Wow, the first day of 2013.

Darin took the kids to WalMart and got Alexa a new bike with Christmas money from GM & GP Vanderpool.   Darin then took the wheels of Alexa's old bike and put them on Jake's.  (He it too short still for a new bike.)  This was Jake's 2nd day to ride a bike w/o training wheels and even though it had been 2-3 weeks, he did GREAT!

We all went as a family to Mira Mesa to get the kids slurpies at Circle K, Darin ran into Home Depot, we went to Best Buy (had fun looking at funny pics of ourselves on computers) and then to Miramar Lake.  It wasn't open so Darin had to park a long ways away.  The kids had their scooters and once there we walked about 3/4 mi and back.

We went to Panda Express for lunch - YUMMY!

Darin then went to Lowes while the kids and I went into IKEA.  There was no more room in the play area for kids so they went with me in the store and treated the whole place like a playground!

When we got home Jake had me walk around the block while he rode his bike.   After that, Darin walked around the block with him while he rode.

I am going to start trying to fly so I bleached and shined my sink.   I have also been trying to loose weight for 2-3 wks now and have lost 4 lbs.  Walking today was good for me.   Supper was super simple - a banana pb smoothie.  Jake had a pb sandwich (his favorite!),   A had a bagel w/butter.  The kids and I watched 3 episodes of Elephant Princess and ate popcorn and apples.

Darin did Raz Kids with both J&A.  While reading a story to the kids they both fell asleep.  I started taking a few things down off the tree but Darin said he would help me tomorrow am.  :)

It is 10pm and I am ready for bed!  (Last night I went to bed at 2am and woke up at 5am...)
GOODNIGHT! :)
