4/3/13 - 1 Dead In I-8 Wreck

1 Dead In I-8 Wreck

The kids and I passed this as we were driving to Yuma to visit Laurie, Steve and Peanut.  We saw the crunched up car with the separated crunched up hood as well as the semi truck bed all burned up off the road facing perpendicular (the car wasn't burned up.)

We had left SD (after appt. in La Mesa) around 3:00 pm but we hit slowed traffic.

We arrived in Yuma at 5:45.

5 Fun Facts About St. Patrick's Day - Yahoo! News

5 Fun Facts About St. Patrick's Day - Yahoo! News

Happy St. Patrick's Day and Happy 68th b-day to my mom!!! We had a fun time over at their home with hamburgers, hot dogs, presents then applesauce cake and vanilla ice cream.  We got her a hat, orange scarf and fun colorful purse.

Yesterday, Sat 3/16, Alexa and I went to Haircutters and had our hair cut.  She got a cute wedge cut so it should be easier for her to brush/comb and get the tangles out.

Friday, 3/15, I got out of work at 2:45, picked the kids up and took them to Circus Vargas in Mira Mesa as a surprise.  It was a good show!

Th, 3/14, after I picked the kids up from school, I took Jake to get his haircut at the Barber Shop.

Wed, 3/13, I met with Cathy/Brandy at Kadman College re: nursing school.  Very expensive and I can't do the hours they offer.  They had me take a test which I passed.  This was Alexa's ~13th visit with Linda Nerenberg in La Mesa.

Last Sat, 3/9, I had Alexis, Luisa and Jason come over for a "playdate" and it was a nice visit.   Sunday, 3/10, we had gone to Miramar Lake with Baron and Leyla to bike around (and Darin to walk around.)

The previous weekend on Friday, 3/1, after work/school, we met up with Lisa, Cameron and Wyatt at Cadman Park.  That Sat, 3/2, we took the kids to Laguna Mtn Lodge area for a snow day and we had the place to ourselves!  We had fun and got Dairy Queen ice cream before coming home.

The previous weekend, 2/23, we had met up with Gretchen and Garrett Thompson at Cadman Park.

2/10/13

I have loved having a clean home!  Granted, it isn't all clean, like the pink room, bedroom or playroom - not to even mention the garage!   Friday after work I saw that I had received the ionic toothbrushes.  I plugged mine in - it is supposed to charge for ~16 hours!

Yesterday am the kids were really good not to wake me up before 7am.  After breakfast (scrambled eggs that J didn't like as I used cracked pepper that was too spicy for him) I took J to WalMart so he could pick out his own underwear for staying dry at night for over 1 whole month!  He picked out what looks like lego ninjas in sz 6 (for big boys!)  When we got home I saw Debbie's parent's truck in front of their house.  Darin said he had talked with them as the renters all moved out!  I went over there with the kids and talked with them a bit.  They were doing some painting.  I had to still unload the car but asked if they needed help and they said no.  I unloaded the car and put everything away.  We had cereal for lunch.  Used my ionic toothbrush for the first time - tickles!!

I was feeling really tired but helped J decorate some of his Valentine's.  I did some math homework and spelling homework with Alexa.   I rode around the block 3 times with J on his bike while D did Raz Kids with A.   The kids and I rode our bikes to the Peacock's home.  The kids played a bit in the house and then we rode our bikes to the park.  There was a young boy learning to ride his bike so J started playing with him.  Maya and Simon came over to the park a bit so it was nice seeing them as well.  I think it was around 5pm we came home.

We had corndogs, sausages and chili for dinner.  Darin sauted up veggies he had gotten at the 99c store.  After dinner J went to bed and A asked to watch Secret of the Wings for the 3rd time.  We laid down in the bed in the pink room and watched it on my computer on Netflix.  Darin came in about 1/2 hr later and watched the rest with us.  A wanted to slp with me in the pink room. :)

Today I stayed in bed until about 7:15.  Of course, I couldn't sleep that long as Darin started coming in the room ~ 6:20, waking A up and then she and J were watching cartoons which was fine.  However, D kept coming in asking where things were.  Sorry, but when he is sleeping I don't disturb him and I also try to keep the kids from disturbing him.  Why don't I get the same courtesy???

We had cereal for b-fast and Darin made a yummy smoothie.  Darin was having A copy sentences he was writing on index cards.  We went to church and Darin had J & A copy sentences on more index cards.  A was not happy but it was J's first time and he loved it.   During the sermon Darin and I were both tired.  When we got home D&A went out shopping.  I stayed with J and we did multiplication on the "keys" I got from Lakeshore.  He did really good and he did the multiplications up to 6 I believe!  After that we decorated some more of his Valentine cards.  Maybe tomorrow I will try to get a pic of him holding a couple to put on this post. :)

D&A got home ~ 12:15 and at 2pm we went over to Shalini's home.  Jane and I (& J) watched God of Wonders while S&A watched Brave (until A wanted it shut off because she was getting scared.)  I always have such a nice visit with Jane!  We got home around 5pm.  Darin was in bed.  I made pork, sweet potatoes and stuffing.  The kids were not impressed.  A at least ate her pork but J hardly touched anything.  He snacked a lot over at Jane's home though...  A watched Tangled while I took a bath (J too).   The kids were going to bed when D got up for a few minutes (went right back to bed.)  I read to the kds for a bit and it was around 8:20 or so when the lights were shut off.

I finally get time to myself - when I am tired...  :)

2/6/13 - Camping

I am behind on my blogging...

On Saturday 2/2 in the morning I helped Alexa complete her biography on Molly Pitcher.  After that we left to go camping at San Mateo.  It was overcast and a little drizzly but we had fun still.  Darin had brought the kids bikes.  The loop across from us was closed off so we didn't have to worry about cars driving around there.  Darin set up the tent only to have the zipper stuck and he tore it off.  He punctured holes in the tent and used fabric ties to keep it closed.   We walked to the beach (1 1/2 mi one way) and it was cold.  A did get in the water so luckily we had dry clothing for her afterwards.  It started sprinkling again so we left just in case it was going to start coming down harder (it didn't.)  On the way back the kids and I only walked part of the way with Darin (to the road and over to Carl's Jr.) while he went back for the car.

I saw a backpacker come in with a backpack and front pack.  I told Darin about it and we saw his packs but didn't see him.  I thought maybe he was hiking the Pacific Rim Trail.  We were walking to in the parking lot to our car when I saw him walking up and I just went right up to him and said I noticed he had a backpack as well as a front pack and asked if he was doing the Pacific Rim Trail (of course I'm getting closer to him as I am talking and realizing he looks more like he is homeless...) so I continue and say, "Or, is that just how you get around?"  He told me he gets around by train and had just offered a coffee to a man as he had been given that favor many times in his life.   He did let me know that the front pack is his survival pack.  If he looses his backpack he can survive on what is in his front pack.  I had $1 in my pocket so I gave it to him for the next time he needs a coffee or sees someone else who does.  He said he would be sure to pass it on.  He had a good heart.

When we got back to camp the kids rode their bikes some more until it got too dark.  After that a couple young kids were doing some exploring with their flashlights and my kids joined them in their adventures.  They were with their GM who would throw pebbles into the bushes and they would be all excited and exclaim, "Did you hear that!?"  They were sure there were snakes or something.  Too cute.

Darin started a fire but it kept going out as we didn't have lighter fluid.  He made so many trips to go find wood that he didn't really get a chance to enjoy the fire!  Finally the kids and I went to bed and Darin said he would be in soon.  However, there were so many hot coals that the big wood finally caught and he stayed up, I'm not sure how long, finally enjoying his fire.

Sunday the kids woke up really early while it was still dark and so I walked with them around the empty loop for a long time.  As soon as Darin was up he got their bikes out of the tent (it had rained that night so I was glad I had put our chairs under the picnic table too.)  The kids rode and rode their bikes.  We went to check on Darin and he had made scrambled eggs with sausage in tortillas - YUM!

We let the kids ride their bikes a lot longer.  Darin raised Jake's seat and lowered A's as she kept falling and falling!   It was better for both of them.

We left around 10:30 and drove to the San Onofre campground, parked and walked to the beach there.  A went boogie boarding and I got in up to my waist. The water was like ice.  There were a lot of rocks and the kids had all sorts of fun.  We also saw a rescue team drop off 2 seals and were able to see them up close.  They never went into the water while we were there.  I think they were enjoying the warmth of the sand!

It was a hike back up to the car.  J slept on the drive home.   I went into Vons for lunch items before we went home, made deli bagel sandwiches and Darin was hm in time for the football game!   After unloading and everything he only missed the first 5 min.  A had been asking and asking to watch Secret of the Wings again so we did that in the pink room.  What a wonderful weekend!

1/29/13

(2nd night back in bedroom...) Yesterday was Mon and I had to get into wk early so that I could leave by 3pm.   I was able to pick the kids up by 3:30 and get to Linda Vista for Alexa's apt w/Linda by 4pm.  Our apt was at 4:30 so I was glad that Linda was able to see her earlier.  A did good and did the entire 20 min. :)  I made BLT's for dinner without the T and with avocado and cream cheese - YUMMY!  :)

Today I didn't have to rush into work so that was nice.  Had a really good day.  Had a 2 hour meeting re: our questionnaire build.  At noon I got a call from the school that A's shoes broke.  I went to Walmart and got her a new pair and took them to her.  I also took a band I got in the mail today to Mrs. Evans.  I made it back to wk in 1 hr.

I had 2 other bands I got in the mail (along with a wooden figit toy) so I put those on the kids chairs.  We had corndogs for dinner.  A had a lot of homework to do so I hope she is able to finish it all tomorrow as it is due on Th.

It has been a long time since I watched anything on the computer but since the kids were in bed at 7:15,  I watched an episode of Once Upon a Time on abc.com.  It took me a while to watch it because the commercials were long and kept having to buffer, then it quit on me and said I needed to download the recent version of Adobe Flash.  Darin helped me a while and decided I needed to restart my computer.  I did and that worked.  I finished watching it but now it is late... :(

I will start a security scan and go to bed. :)

1/27/13 - Anna Pilko

Yesterday am the kids were up at 6:15 (A slept w/me in the pink room).  I had them watch cartoons for 45 min while I wrote up a schedule for the day.  At 7 they got dressed and we ate b-fast then we did homework and took breaks until 10am.  We were ready to go to LEGOLAND but Darin was working with the fish tanks and we were waiting for him.  Finally around 11am we left without Darin as he was still going to be a while.  It had been raining lightly and was still overcast.  We ended up going over to Diana Le to visit her and her new baby (Azaria?).  Cute.  We weren't there long and we went to LEGOLAND from around 12:30 to 5pm.  We stopped at McDonalds for dinner.  When we got home J was sleeping.  A had been waiting all day to see Secret of the Wings (a Tinkerbell movie) so I  put that on.  Darin left right when it was about ready to start and got home from WalMart right after it ended!  A & I slept in the living room.  We didn't fall asleep right away, she was on her laptop and reading from the dictionary!   We finally had lights out and went to sleep...

J woke up around 4:30 asking loudly for Alexa.  I had him come sleep out with us.  He was complaining that his neck was hurting so I gave him some chewable pain reliever medicine for kids.  He woke up early so I had him get in the bath.  After J waking up so early and talking loudly and not letting me sleep very well, he then stated he was tired and laid down again...

I got up at 7am and made scrambled eggs.  I had the kids get up at 7:15 to get dressed and come for b-fast.  I made b-fast burritos just adding cheese and ketchup.  A doesn't care for scrambled eggs so she had cereal.  J loved the burritos and asked for the every morning.  I let him know that I don't have time every morning to make them.  :)  Darin loved them too - he was "mmmmmming" with every bite!

We got to church at 8:15 and we had a nice service.  Before going home we went to the bank and to 99c store.  At home we prepared to go to Nobel Park.  We got there at 11am and met Anna Pilko and her daughter Alexandra (a friend of A's in Ms. Evans class.)  I tried to call Adrian's family but they were in LA.  I tried to call Garrett's family but I was only able to lvm.  Anna was really nice and I enjoyed our time.

We got hm ~2 or so and the kids got on the IPAD.  I set timers for them and went to bed.  I slept till ~4pm when J came in to lay down with me - but he wasn't really sleepy.  A had gone and fallen asleep w/Darin.  I made a pizza for dinner and put on a Netflix movie that came in - Ice Age Continental Shift.  J didn't want to watch it but did.  It was a little scary for them but it was a good movie.  They got ready for bed and D cuddled w/A for a bit.  J fell asleep pretty quickly after yelling a few times how much he loved me. :)

It is 8:30 and I am so tired.  I will get a drink of water and go to bed!

1-25-13 - ionic brush/Big Boss Fryer

Rainy day.   A was put In timeout this am by Darin before they even left for school.  We had a good day though.  A states she got a green and will get a green everyday.  Of course, I found out from Mrs. Evans yesterday that she no longer has been changing  the color of her card as she thought it was too much of a negative for Alexa.  She has just been ignoring her behavior!   Alexa is so excited that she is getting greens - she is ready to try to obtain a star!

I told the girls at work about Live Mocha - Christina wants to learn Italian.  :)  Darin picked up the kids since it was raining.  That gave me time to come home and start dinner - beef, gravy and mashed potatoes.

The kids got in the Jacuzzi for a little bit.  I played Perplexus quite a bit - so fun yet frustrating at the same time.  I had mentioned to Darin this am about getting an ionic toothbrush and he said to go ahead and order from Groupon which I did.  Then I ordered a Emson Big Boss Fryer which I have been looking at for a couple days.  I have been looking at something similar for 2-3 months now though.  This was a really good deal through EBAY.

Alexa was up till about 8:30 on the IPAD before I told her to get off and go brush her teeth.  Silly girl, she was saying to start a movie!  She wanted to lay down with me in the pink room and she fell asleep.  I was even planning on sleeping in my bedroom again as Darin fixed the Jacuzzi to go off around 7:10am but here I am comfy under the covers typing away with A sleeing on my elbow.

Pleasant Dreams!!  :)

1/24/13 - Live Mocha

Busy day at work but it was a good day and I got a lot done.  I picked the kids up at 4pm but we were leaving and J had to go to the restroom so I had him go back inside.  After a while we were leaving again and I remembered that there was a function there that evening.  I asked and was informed it started at 5pm.  I took the kids over to the playground where they played for about 30-40 minutes.  We went back to the school and I was able to listen to the presentation from the SAY Behavioral Specialist.  I love all the information - I need all the good ideas/techniques I can get!  The kids came in with us after about 15 minutes and we all ate pizza together and they gave us poster board to make either house rules or daily schedule on.  Each of the kids got creative with a poster and I brought one home to complete for the kids.

We have a routine when we get home that the kids will hang up their coats and backpacks and put their red folders and lunchboxes on the counter.  I mentioned this to them on the way home and when I parked the car.  A got into the house before I did as I had so much stuff to carry in.  I saw her coat and lunchbox on the floor of the living room!  I gave her a few minutes to come put them away as I was putting away all my things.  When I saw her, she was on the Blackberry Dr. Park had given to me!  I took it away from her, "because you didn't do what I asked the first time."  (She had taken that phone to school without Darin or I knowing about it and she got in trouble a couple times at PrimeTime for having it...

I had J take a bath and wash his hair (he had me help him.)  After he got out A got in.  J was playing and when A got out, in her jammies and teeth brushed, I let her watch about 15min of Matilda on youtube.  J brushed his teeth at the same time I did (while A was on the computer) and when he was done he got into bed.  I covered him up and said a prayer and he followed up with one himself (it didn't make sense to me though so not sure what he said...)   I had A go to bed after the timer went off for the computer and I guess she fell asleep w/Darin.  Pink room again for me tonight.  (I have been sleeping in here for a while because the last couple times I slept in our room the Jacuzzi heater (?) went off at 4:30 am waking me up.  I asked him to change the time on it and tonight when I got home I asked if he had changed it but he said not yet...)

I was checking my email and saw someone from the homeschool group suggested LiveMocha for learning another language.  I thought I had signed up to it a long time ago and got on it again to check it out.  I was doing a beginners lesson when I received a request to chat.  I accepted and found out she is from Santiago, Chile and she is trying to learn English as she wants to be an English teacher.   It felt weird correcting her English when she asked something a little off but that is what she wanted. :)

Night!

1/23/13 - start neurofeedback

Darin took the kids in to school and I did about 5 loads of laundry and got groceries before heading over to Doyle to meet up with Darin and have our 11:15 meeting with Jennifer (school counselor), Kim (principal) and the educational specialist (not sure of her name).  The meeting went really well and they have a lot of ideas they want to start enforcing like a higher table so she can stand, turning the chair around so she can lean on the back of the chair, lap desk so she can sit on the floor and eventually get her in a 504(?).

Darin and I went to UTC for lunch then I went to University City library and picked up some books.  I went back to Doyle and helped Mrs. Traganza by covering a couple boards with contact paper.  I picked the kids up early from Primetime and let J play about 10 min at the playground.  A didn't want to play so I had her read the 2 books I got from the library on Molly Pitcher for the biography she needs to turn in by 2/7.  At home I drew a flower on a paper and had her put the name in the stem and asked her to write some details/facts in the petals.   She wrote "born 1950's".   J wrote a little bit for his homework but not much.

Darin picked us up ~3:20 and we drove to La Mesa for a 4pm apt w/Linda N (Behavioral Specialist) for consult and neurofeedback.  We were there until 5pm.  I think this will be very helpful to Alexa but it is expensive!  $100 per session and she needs to go 2/wk for a while.

Both kids fell asleep on the way home but woke up when we got home.  Darin dropped us off as he had a happy hour to go to with some people from work.  I had the kids take a bath.  They got ready for bed and I read a book to Jake and A laid in her bed and watched ~20 min of Matilda on my IPAD.

J fell asleep before A was done but she was ready for lights out at 6:30pm.  I was ready too but thought that I would try Perplexus again - no luck getting to 100 today - YET!

1/21/13 - A saves J

I haven't written the past couple of days so I will try to remember what I can.

Sat 1/19 A had a birthday party to go to for Aqua who turned 8.  She dressed up as Princess Tianna and since Jake got to go to, he dressed up as a crusader (knight, dragon slayer, etc...)  There were quite a few kids there and most of them were dressed up - so cute!  Carmi (mom) was dressed up like snow white and Peter (dad) was dressed up like a knight (or king).   They had a trampoline and the kids were having a blast.  Darin and I left to go on a hike and we went longer than I would have gone but we had a good time and also walked to a Vons to pick up some healthy things to eat/drink before we headed back to their house.  They had really yummy carmel apples in the shape of Mickey Mouse that were really colorfully coated with colored sugar.  Darin and I shared 1/2 an apple.  We helped clean up the back yard and then took off for home at 4pm.

Sun 1/20.  We went to church and at noon I took A over to Seleste's home to celebrate her 12th b-day.  I came home and played with J and he also played by himself while I read.   When it was time to pick A up J rode his bike and I walked A's scooter over so she could ride it back.  It seems they had a very good time at the party.  We made it home around 4:20 so they live really close. :)

Mon 1/21 - Holiday - Martin Luther King Jr. day.  Darin left around 5:30 to go pick up donuts.  I started reading my book and he came home and started reading his emails on the computer.  By 6:30 ish Tracy had come to carpool with him to go plant trees.  A bunch of them went out to lunch and then they got home around 2ish??  I had been out front with the kids.  J was on his bike and A had her scooter out but she was sitting next to me (she constantly hurts herself).  Anyway, when Darin pulled into the back to park, Jake followed not realizing Darin was backing up to park.  Alexa was running back there for J to stop.  Darin heard her and stopped backing up or he would have hit J who had zoomed behind him on his bike.  I didn't see any of this as I was in the front of the house still.  I did hear A crying (scared out of her mind for Jake).  Later A said that J was under Darin's car and that his bike almost got ran over and that she had pulled on his shirt to get him out.  A cried for quite a while about this whole thing.  Darin and I were both very proud of her and told her that J couldn't ask for a better sister than her.

Darin took J on a hike.  I watched Matilda with A until the last 15 min when we had to go to Shalini's home as Jane told me she would do a pedicure on A.  It was such a nice visit with Jane and she did do a great job on A's toes - she also gave a mini manicure.  The girls played and watched some tv while Jane and I talked.  :)

We made it home in time for A to brush her teeth, pick out her clothes for tomorrow and watch the last 15 min of Matilda - cute show!

Darin and I watched "Ugly Truth", not one I would recommend to anyone - crass.

I did play Perplexus and got from 1-100 but it did fall just before resting at the end...  I will try again!!!  :)

I'm not sure how long I tried for - maybe 15 min or so but I made it from 1-100 without it falling!!!  :)

1/17/13

It has been so cold out lately but today was a really nice day out. :)   I made the green smoothie and Darin made hard egg sandwich.  The kids tried the but didn't want to eat them.  Alexa had a piece of cheese and then she got a buttered bagel.  Darin thinks she should only be getting 1/2 bagel.  We had a good morning and Darin was able to leave earlier as he needed to get gas.  I, on the other hand, got into work about 5 min late which isn't bad except I had to reboot the computer and didn't clock in until 7:11.

The carpets at work had been shampooed yesterday and more GI moves were taking place.  The big conf table was finally moved downstairs!!!  Busy day with setting up fellow interviews and other stuff.  During lunch I typed up some house rules and consequences.

I picked up the kids a little late and checked them out around 4:20.  We got home around 4:30 - not bad!  The kids at PB & Nutella sandwiches (2 each) when Darin realized the Nutella has so much sugar in it...  We had already told them that they could have an ice cream sandwich afterwards so they were full of sugar!

I got upset with Alexa for whining/complaining about something and I squeezed her face while telling her to stop it.  I didn't realize I had squeezed some of her neck skin and she was crying because it hurt.  I think I need a behavioral specialist too.  I don't want to hurt my kids!   Earlier in the day Jake had made a face after I asked him to do something he didn't want to do so I had him hold his tongue for 1 minute (read that online as a consequence today).  I probably should have just had Alexa hold her tongue...  I have to remember to keep a cool head - it is so hard in the moment though.   LORD - HELP ME!!!

I had washed the kids bedding so after the kids bath and Raz Kids, Darin helped me make their beds.  Jake fell asleep really quickly.  I read the rules and consequences to A and laid down with her a little bit.  I was then able to read a couple chapters in ECLIPSE.   It is 9:36 now and I will probably still look through some emails/facebood/news...  I hope I get to bed by 10:30!

Night! :)

1/16/13

Had a good morning. Darin took the kids into school and I got some laundry done.  I left here at 9:10 a to go pick up Darin and we went to Dr. Margo P. (Behavioral Specialist) to discuss Alexa.  We were there until 11:15.  We had good discussions and Alexa will go next week for special testing on a computer.

Darin and I went out for Mexican lunch before I took him back to work.  I had 3 mini carne asada tacos (YUM) and he had a carne asada burrito.  After I dropped him off I went to the school.  I spoke w/the vice principal who sat w/A some today and said she seemed focused.  The nutritionist (??) set up a mtg for next Wed w/Vice Principal, Principal, Behavioral Specialist, etc...  I'm not really sure who all will be there.   I went to see Mrs. Evans who states she hasn't noticed any change with Alexa yet.  :(  We will give that some more time as A just recently started taking "Lemon" oil.   I then went to Mrs. Traganza's class and did some work there but she must have already been gone for the day because I didn't see her (but she might have been in a meeting.)

I brought the kids home early (1:45) but let them play for a little bit on the playground.  We ended up leaving there soon afterwards because they weren't getting along.  We were home by 2:30.  I made PB banana smoothie and A must have had 3 juice glasses full (normally she has 1!!!!!)  It took A a long time to write out the title of her book on a piece of paper - about 1/2 hr!!  She was doing some more of her homework when the doorbell rang.  I had just had a discussion with A to lock the screen door so strangers couldn't just walk in.  She had locked it but yelled at us (she was "belted" to her chair at the time) to look out the window to see who it was.  Jake looked out and yelled, "They're here, they're here!!!"  That didn't help me any, I opened the door and it was Dee and Gianna!  Gianna had driven!!! :)  What a nice surprise and another break for the kids!!  I talked with Dee about the boys being Gate Seminar (Giana is Gate) I offered for them to stay as I was making lasagna but they had to get going home.  I told them to stop by more often.  :)

I don't know what did it, but A finished her book report, spelling and math!  :)  :)   Daddy came home during dinnertime and A was so excited to show him that they were belted to the seats!  They both finished their lasagna and were able to have an ice cream sandwich.  J got in the bath and then A.  Darin read J a story and then sat in the bathroom w/A while she went on and on about the cell phone she is going to get when she is 14!!  I was working on writing up a rough draft for house rules - a lot of ideas on the internet!!  When I tucked her in and, at her request, laid down with her, she again talked about the cell phone she would be getting.  :)

This always happens... I want to be in bed around 8pm and I don't get to go until around 10:30 or 11pm!!

Night!

It is 8:08 pm and I am so tired right now!  We had a good morning and everyone made it out on time. :)  It has been busy at work with the Fellowship program and other daily duties.  Christina and Talitha were telling me murders that have taken place and were recently in the news or on a tv program.  Christina told me about a MD who was murdered by a pt of his because of a med prescribed by him ~ 5 yrs prior.  He ended up stabbing him ~21 times.  Even though he plead guilty (in another country) he said he never intended to kill him.  If he would have stayed still he only meant to cut off his hands and feet, sauter them so they wouldn't bleed and pluck his eyes out. (SICK!)   Talitha told me of a young girl from here in SD whose family had just moved into the country and her mother passed away.  She was taking really good care of her younger brother but went to SF for college.  Her best friend there who was ~3 mos pregnant thought her boyfriend was cheating with her and so she posed as a teacher, stole a badge, murdered the innocent girl and dumped her body in the woods.  The body was found by Amber's mom (of Amber and Chelsea...) and her newly trained tracking dog.  The "best friend" would have been ~ 6 mos pregnant by this time - jail baby...  What kind of world do we live in?

I read some of my book at lunch time.

Darin picked the kids up from school so I went to Smart & Final and picked up some dinner items.  I made a chicken spinach pasta dish for Darin and I and Mac-n-Cheese for the kids along with garlic toast for all of us (J didn't want any.)  Darin did some homework with J and I helped A finish her project on Bottlenose Dolphins.

The kids had to brush their teeth and go to bed early for their behavior - A for being disrespectful and J whining/crying (acting tired.)  They started sleeping in the LR on the floor but after I read them A's book (for her book report this week) they went to their room to sleep.

It is 8:22 and I have a little more energy than I had when I started this so I will check out some news articles.  I still think of those 20 angels every day and wish they were still alive.  I get so sad when I think about what those last moments of their lives were like - the terror and pain... poor babies.  THANK YOU JESUS for holding them in your arms now!!!

1/14/13

It is sad... 1 month that those precious 20 kids and wonderful 6 adults are no longer with us.  I signed the Sandy Hook Promise.

The morning went by pretty well so I was surprised when I got a call from Darin at work surprised that I was still alive!  Obviously A told Alexandra (who told her mom - who told Darin) that Darin killed me, that the step-mom was trying to kill her and that her dad hates her.   Waiting for CPS to come a knockin'!!!

Another surprise, JH left his heater on all night Fri because he was going to wk on Sat am and didn't want it to be cold.   The whole building could have burned down.  His room smelled like a fire had taken place.  Good thing he went in as early as he did.  He wants his walls washed, carpets cleaned and a new wall heater.

I went with Christina to Beverly's Fabric store during lunch.  We got K sandwiches on the way back. It was a good, busy day.

When I picked up the kids and we were in the car A asked if Darin was in jail.  She then proceeded to tell me the "nightmare" she told Alexandra.  Alexa said she was a mermaid and Darin and I killed her mermaid mom and we were trying to kill her next.  Where do kids come up with this?  I'm so glad we have an appt with a Behavioral Specialist on Wed.  Not only that but J said that he could beat me down to the ground but he didn't want to.  I would go to heaven and he would go to jail.  Did I say already that I am glad we have an appt with a Behavioral Specialist soon?!?!

We had a good evening.  The kids played outside quite a bit while I got leftovers ready.  I worked a lot on A's school project and she cut out pictures.   I had been asking the kids to go brush their teeth and go to bed but at 7:50 they were still up!  Jake was saying something smart aleky to me and I got upset and squeezed his face and said REALLY!?!  I proceeded to give him a light smack on his cheek.  I had never treated him like that before. :(

I had to leave the room (feeling major guilt) and heard him talking with Daddy.  He was telling Daddy that he didn't want to kill me but now he does want to.  That got Darin MAD!!!!   Jake got a spanking.  I came when Darin was coming out and I whispered to him that J probably doesn't even know what he is talking about.   He was crying so hard I picked him up and held him tight.  Jake then was telling me again what he said to his dad and that I would be in heaven and he would be in jail.   I let him know that we don't say things like that about anybody.  God calls us to love one another and we are to treat others the way we want to be treated.  I laid him in bed and he said he doesn't like earth and pointing up said he wished he was there now.

Lord, help Darin and I know how to teach our kids love, kindness, forgiveness, patience, humbleness, grace, sincerity, gentleness, goodness, faith, temperance, etc...  PLEASE~ SOONER THAN LATER!

Jake woke up on the floor and got made at me for pushing him off the bed!  I told him that the computesomer had fallen and I woke up and he had his legs over the bed and slowly got down to the floor kneeling.  I got down next to him asking if he wanted to get back up into bed or lay on the floor.  He laid down where he was.  I got his blankets and laid them down for him and he fell asleep...  (Mommy is evil!)

Jake did some Raz Kids and A was on the IPAD some.  We had some cereal and I made a green smoothie before we went to church at 8:30.  We had J stay in his class today and he didn't give us a problem.  (I had told him while we were getting ready that he would be staying there today.)  Ping got up and gave her testimony about the fire at her home on Tues.  So glad they are ok but they lost all their possessions.

I spent a lot of time trying to fix the computer so that the trial Outlook would work - no luck so far.  Darin has been having me help him move the huge fish tank he got last weekend so he can clean it out.  I made hash browns (w/Jake helping cut up the potatoes) and French toast with OJ and cantaloupe.  :)

We all walked over to the 99c store and Darin got quite a bit of stuff (of course 2 items were for Christmas, from A, slim no-slide hangers!)  Both kids wore their roller shoes and had me pull them quite a bit - what a work out!!

At home, I read out front while the kids rode their bikes/scooter.  I printed out info on bottle nose dolphins.  We weren't really hungry for dinner so I made PB banana smoothie and popcorn while we watched Miracle Dogs.  It was a cute movie.  Time for kids to go to bed as soon as it was over though (7:30) and they went to bed no problem.  Darin laid down with A till both kids were asleep.

It is 8:40 and I am ready for LIGHTS OUT!!!  :)

Mom, Ping, goes to my church and spoke to the congregation.  She lost all her possessions including a photo of her mom who passed away about 25 yrs ago and her kids photos growing up, besides anything else we as people might grow attached to but she has great faith in God.  :)

Fountain of youth?...

1/12/13

The kids and I had a sleepover last night so we fell asleep watching movies (from my computer hooked up to the tv.)  I wasn't able to get on my computer last night to do a post from yesterday.  Below is a picture soon after waking up.

Yesterday was a pretty good day though.  At work the girls and I had a meeting with Isabel Garcia, Deb Jennings, Rachel Christensen and Vicki Curry to go over a lot of information on scheduling.  The meeting lasted over an hour and we didn't even discuss the distribution of our duties, which is why we were meeting.

For dinner I made easy chicken cacciatore from a recipe I got from allrecipes.com.  It was so yummy!  The directions said to put it in the oven for 35 min to 1 hr so I had it in for 55 min and the thick pieces still weren't cooked all the way through.  Next time I will plan for 1hr and 15 min.

I took the kids to WalMart and then to M&R's (Kim still there after her back surgery).  The kids have been fighting all day.  We had lunch there and with them not minding we came home  I started looking up info for A bottle nose dolphins and found some images but I wasn't able to email the pics as I didn't have Microsoft Outlook.  I tried to download it but it is now 9:30 pm and still no luck...

After being up til about 9pm, the kids are both sleeping with me in the pink room - not as much room as on the living room floor!!!  No room for my arms!
