I picked Jake up at noon but he did NOT want to leave Adrian and threw a major fit! Barely said goodbye to Adrian. His mom had said that they were still up at 11pm talking and she asked them to go to sleep - which they did. He had asked for me and said he missed me. When he woke up he said, "My mommy still isn't here!" His mom reassured him and as soon as Adrian woke up they were having fun and even went on a hike with his dad. Boy he was irritable coming home though. He laid down on the cough for a while with his blanket and when he got up he was fine. Whew! :)
Alexa was missing him last night and this morning. :) However, this is the first weekend she was officially "GROUNDED!" She had to stay in her room Friday and Saturday except to come out to go to the bathroom, eat or do homework with daddy.

Oh my goodness! The first night that Jake spent the night at somebody else's house besides family. Another amazing thing about this is that when he has spent the night with family he had his sister with him and she, obviously, didn't spend the night at his friend Adrian's house with him. 10-10-10
Can you believe it is 10/10/10?!?! Another 100 yrs before that will happen. I hope nothing weird happened today that I just haven't heard about yet. Again this am J was whiny and not behaving well. A was eating well and J wanted fruity pebbles too but I guess he thought I put too much milk in his bowl and he was not happy and wouldn't eat... He also wasn't minding D this am so he had to stay home from church. Linda's back was hurting from picking up J yesterday so she didn't go to church with us.
Dad & I dropped A off at her classroom and enjoyed church service by pastor Chuck on the 1st chapter of Romans (~ vs 8-17). Chuck has a good memory - he remembered Dad lives in MO! After church I gave A the option of going hm w/GP or staying & going into another SS class for 2nd service. She wanted to stay. Dad went home and I chatted with the Dangels. I attended the class with about 35 others! (Theresa is in the class too.) I really enjoyed the class and look forward to the others. I am bummed I will miss the 3rd class which will be a "meat and potatoes" class compared to today's introductory class.
I got home and Dad had made fresh vegetables, sauted with shrimp and chow mein noodles. It was really good. It didn't need soy sauce on it but I love the salty flavor... :)
About 1:15 I was super tired and went to lay down. I know that Dee came over around 2. I didn't get up till about 3:30 - ahhhh.. I had a piece of Dad's homemade bread - :). The kids seemed to be pretty whiny so I wanted J at least to take a nap before AWANA started. He didn't want to go to bed. I guess A's head hurt so she went in and laid down. They both ended up falling asleep. Dee had to leave around 4 to go p/u Gianna.
I went in to wake up the kids at 4:45 for AWANA but A's head still hurt and she stayed in bed. No AWANA tonight. Kim came over close to 5pm. A got up at 5pm and went to Aunt Kimmie to be soothed. Aunt Kimmie was able to get her to take some medicine and also put a bag of peas on her head. I went in at 5:15 and woke J up. It took him a while to wake up but he finally did and wanted to ride his bike. I went with him till dinner was ready.
We had easy garlic chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, asparagus & black olives. Delish! The kids basically only ate so they could have black olives... I put them both in the bath but they weren't there long as they, again, were not getting along. I had them brush their teeth, put PJ's on, and I read them a couple books. Aunt Kim said her goodbyes to the kids as she was leaving. I asked D to make sure the kids had gone to the restroom and to read a book J picked out. He did and put them to bed.
I started reading Strengths Finder 2.0 by Tom Rath. I kissed the kids goodnight then took my assessment on line. My talents are: Adaptability, Empathy, Harmony, Consistency & Positivity.
It is 10:45 and A just woke up wimpering. I hope her head isn't still hurting her. She went to the bathroom and went back to bed and is quiet. Maybe she was just wishing she didn't have to get out of bed to go to the bathroom...???

(Writing on 10/10 for yesterday...) I woke up early wanting to go to WalMart and Darin mentioned going as well. However, J was in a mood. GP made a lot of yummy pancakes for b-fast. :) D walked over to Vons just with A to go to the bank. He picked up milk and eggs while he was there.
Linda &I ended up taking the kids to WalMart to get some items including a gift for Alex (Alessandra). A saw a classmate who was there buying a gift for Alex as well. The party started at 11 but we didn't get to Nobel Park until about 12:30. The kids had a good time with getting their face painted, hitting the pinata, playing on the playground, eating cake and getting candy and party favors. I had a really good burger while I was there. Some of the kids were going swimming afterwards but we didn't have the kids suits.
I was so tired when I got home that I had to go sleep. I only laid down for about an hour and I kept hearing the kids arguing so I didn't get much rest.

Boy, even with it being darker out in the mornings it seems like the kids (&Darin) wake up earlier! D got in the bath & A asked to get in with him then J asked to get in with him. D was out before the water was done running!
D & A left around 6:40 am. J wanted to take his cubby book to Ms. Teresa's but not his blankies. I saw the lamb out in the garage and had aleady put Jake in the car with his door closed, so I put the lamb up to the window like he wanted in. Jake just laughed and when I gave him the lamb he just hugged it and laughed. :)
J didn't want me to leave until Ms. Teresa asked him if he wanted to go on a walk - YEAH!!! I got into work a little earlier than my usual 8am, 7:45. Kim brought us over some goodies for Halloween time. Christina and Cindy got big Halloween mugs filled with goodies. I got a Halloween bowl with 2 dish towels, 3 small candles, a spider candle, stickers, and some goodies. It was such a busy day today with a fellowship mtg, MD appt, CF team mtg, urgent rqst from ML to put in ck rqst for translation svcs for CFFD tomorrow and let him know he wouldn't be getting paid tomorrow. MSP had urgent rqst for mtg for the CF site visit. It was so busy I hardly got to read any emails or EPIC msgs. Christina told me that she feels as though I have been gone 3 days now - I feel that way too. I got the ok to do some work tomorrow if I have the time.
Sad news today - there was a shooting at an Elementary school in Carlsbad. The 2 kids were brought to CH. I only know about a shooting in the arm so I don't know if both kids were shot in the arm. I just pray that they are ok and I am grateful for the construction worker/s who stopped him. Who knows what damage he might have done.
I bought airline ticket to Chicago for the fellowship conference (which will be 10/25), paid for hotel and registration.
We got home and D & A were here. A got out left over taquitos and I made J 2 hard eggs & a slice of cheddar cheese. D&I had an egg sandwich. I took the kids over to the Beatty's for Bible Study at 6:30 pm. I was with the kids tonight (along with Donna). They played, we did a little Bibe study, the kids watched Lilo & Stitch 2 and played some more. A fell asleep at 8:30 and the study was over about 8:40pm. J had a HUGE cookie (I helped him with it) - we LUV chocolate chip... :) I woke A up and had her go to the bathroom before bringing them hm. D carried her straight to bed when we got home. J seemed full of energy but went to bed ok. :) D went to bed too! It is 10:50. I should be thinking about going to bed but I don't want to yet...

It's my birthday! WOW - 43 now... :) I got A dressed and breakfast. D took her to school. Dee called and sung happy b-day to me. Mom called asking about my day. I went to Doyle from 8-9:15 or so for a parent coffee where the principal and vice principal talk about what is going on.
I got home and Dad had been playing riding bikes w/J. D came home and pumped up my tires. I called Mom back who asked me over for breakfast. Dad said he would continue to watch J as D was in our bedroom working and/napping.
Mom had made eggs with red peppers, toast with jelly, fruit cups, & crispy bacon - it was a really good breakfast. She gave me a card with a painting of Elim Chapel on the front, a little zip wallet from Morris, IL and a CELEBRATE plate. :) I said hi to Grandma while I was there too. I got back home about noon. Linda had made rhubarb cake and it smelled so good! Dad had walked to the store with Jake and got some milk and ??? They said that J had eaten lunch aleady and had eaten well.
At 1pm we all laid down for a nap. D woke me up around 2:30 asking when they had swim (swim was yesterday) and he went back to sleep - thanks Darin... I heard J up with GP so I got up too. I typed up my CF mtg minutes from September as the next is tomorrow! J was on starfall.com during my time on the computer. D had left around 4 to pick up A and at 4:40 I had J get off the computer as she was due home any minute. When A got home I got J ready (he had gotten himself undressed from the waist down which isn't unusual...)
We went to Moonbeams from 5-6 (Gabriella was there). We came home and Linda had made chicken rice casserole for dinner - it was so good! I opened my present before we started eating (2 sets of PJ's which I love!) I read stories to the kids (while they were eating some more). We had rhubarb cake with the hot white sauce - oh I loved it! J liked it better without the sauce.
D had the kids brush their teeth and put on PJs (I helped J). They didn't go to bed as easily as I thought they would but I sang to them a SHARK song they learned at Moonbeams today. After singing that a few times they went to bed pretty easily.
I was really looking forward to watching a Netflix movie mom gave me to bring home and watch - Letters to Julia, but it wouldn't work - it is a Blue Ray. :( I checked my FB, did a Word Challenge game and did the best ever on my 1st try so I stopped and checked my work emails till 10:45. It is 11:15 now and I need to get to bed!

Darin was up at 5am. I told him if he wanted to go to work early I would take A to school since it is Wed. D said he was going to put a lunch together for A (he thought it was 6am). He stuck around and took A to school himself.
I had some bfast w/J then we played a couple games of Don't Break the Ice. J played about 15 min on the computer while I cleaned some then he started playing with legos. D could see that I was really tired so he offered to watch J while I laid down again. It was 9am. I remember waking up wondering who turned the light on but it was light outside and I was wondering why it was light outside. I looked at my watch and it was 9:11!! I napped till 10:30. D and taken J outside to ride his bike. J&I went to Party City and picked up party stuff for A. We came home and had lunch. J had egg salad and was finished before we even sat down. We had fried egg sandwiches - even D came home for lunch! D went back to work. D&L, J&I drove up to Mira Mesa looking for a WalMart Supercenter - it was a wild goose chase. I called Angelica Saldana and she confirmed there was no D&L had drove separately so J&I left and went to p/u A from SAY. I saw Ms. Archuleta first and I am not listed to be a volunteer yet. A, J & I came home. We were here long enough for A to eat some of her sandwich, we had banana & nuts. We then went swimming. J did not want to go at all - boy was he throwing a fit. He was fine within 1-2 min after being in the water. He was swimming, waving to me, jumping in from the side... A always likes to go swimming and she was doing very well today. I was amazed at how fast she was going while doing the "Dolphin" swim (she had goggles and fins on.) She was fast but she kept having to stop because she kept catching up to the girl swimming in front of her.
I had them shower and change and we came home. D&L still weren't home. I had just looked up my recipe for fish with sour dill sauce when L called asking about dinner. They ended up getting toquitos for the kids and burritos for the adults. Of course I got a carne asada - YUMMY.
The kids took a quick bath, brushed their teeth, got their PJs on and we watched the 2nd half of Bedtime Stories - :). They went to bed easily. D&L watched Undercovers. I watched it while checking my emails. Darin got hm at 8:40pm, ate his carne asada burrito and went to bed. I am earlier than most nights - it is only 9:18 right now! Not sure if that means I will get to bed anytime soon...
